“For two decades, we have looked after Telluride luxury residences, and the lesson never changes: the home is the trip. The right Telluride home, prepared to five-star standards with a local team behind it, is what turns a good ski vacation into the one your family remembers and talks about for years."

Frequently Asked

Luxury Rental FAQ

Are vacation rentals better than hotels for a luxury ski trip?

For most guests, yes, once the trip involves a family, a group, or a stay of more than a few nights. A hotel gives you a room and a front desk. A private home or villa gives you an entire house, space to spread out, a kitchen a private chef can actually work in, and no shared corridors or lobbies. What sets a luxury vacation rental apart is care and concierge: InvitedHome delivers the standard you'd expect from a fine hotel through a local team, rather than leaving it to chance. It's also why many of our guests choose to book direct rather than through a third party, and why so many prefer a private home over a marketplace listing. See what our standard looks like behind the scenes.

How private are luxury vacation rentals?

As private as you need them to be. Homes are personally vetted, staff are local and known to us, and we're accustomed to hosting guests for whom privacy is not negotiable, including those who travel with their own security or staff. We don't list bookings publicly, and we keep guest preferences confidential from one stay to the next. Discretion extends to the homes themselves: many sit in the most sought-after and secluded settings in their markets, like Vail's Forest Road. If you have specific requirements, raise them with our team and we'll structure the stay around them.

What is the best mountain town for a luxury vacation rental?

It depends on what you're after. Telluride for seclusion and arguably the most dramatic setting in the Rockies; Vail and Beaver Creek for world-renowned terrain, with the latter leaning more family-oriented; Park City and Deer Valley for modern luxury, legendary powder and ease of access from Salt Lake; Aspen, Jackson Hole, and Whistler each for their own character. If you're weighing two against each other, our comparisons help: Aspen vs. Vail, Beaver Creek vs. Vail, and Park City vs. Vail. Or start with the full destination guides: Telluride, Vail, Beaver Creek, Park City, and Breckenridge. Or tell our reservations team how you like to travel and we'll point you to the right home.

Can a travel agent or family office book a vacation rental for you?

Yes, and often that's how it works best. We routinely coordinate with travel advisors, family office staff, and personal assistants on behalf of their principals, and our preferred partnerships include Virtuoso, IATA, and Dominique Debay. Our experienced local concierge teams can arrange the logistics that come with high-end travel, from private aviation into Vail and Beaver Creek to ground transfers and staffing. Reach our reservations team to set up an agency arrangement or hand off the details.

What does ski-in/ski-out actually mean, and are the rentals worth it?

"Near the slopes" gets stretched, so it's worth knowing the difference. True ski-in/ski-out means you can step out of your home, click into your skis, and access a run or lift without needing a car or shuttle. any homes marketed that way are really a shuttle ride from the lift. We'll always tell you the truth: roughly 85% of our homes are either true ski-in/ski-out or within 150 yards of a lift. Here's what ski-in/ski-out actually means, then see slope-side homes in Telluride, Vail and Beaver Creek, and Park City. If your group skis at different levels, our notes on the best family ski resorts in Colorado are a useful starting point.

What is included in a luxury vacation rental?

With InvitedHome, every stay is built around what you need — and what you want handled. We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all amenity list. Instead, your experience is curated in advance by your preferences, so the home feels ready upon arrival. In every residence, you’ll find the conveniences of a luxury hotel: professionally prepared homes, quality linens, bath amenities, and a dedicated local concierge team. From there, everything is tailored. If you’d like a private chef in Telluride or Vail, gear, transfers, childcare, a specific celebration, our team will organize it on your behalf. Small details matter too, which is why we can coordinate shipping your luggage in advance and where to rent gear once you arrive. If you can picture it, share it with our team. We’ll take care of the rest.

Who manages luxury vacation rentals like these?

We do, directly. InvitedHome is not a marketplace matching you with a stranger's listing; every home we operate is privately owned, personally vetted, and run by local teams. That means one consistent standard, the same people each visit, and a person you can reach by name rather than a 1-800 line, whether it's a same-day request or something at eleven on a Saturday night. More on how HomeCraft redefines property management, and a few things most guests don't know about us.

How do you book a luxury vacation rental?

Start with a human conversation rather than a checkout button. The more involved the stay, a multi-week booking, several homes for one group, a holiday week, a last-minute decision, the more a direct conversation with our team saves you. It's also worth planning a winter trip well in advance, since the best homes book early for peak weeks. Contact us by phone or email and we'll move quickly.
